Amundi: ECB poised to stay on hold
Prior to the ECB meeting on Thursday, Alessia Berardi, Head of Global Macroeconomics at Amundi Investment Institute indicates that she expects the ECB to hold rates steady this week.
“We expect the ECB to stay on hold this week, as intensifying hostilities in the Middle East and changes to the policy framework dominate the backdrop. The recent pickup in input prices keeps the door open to further hikes, potentially in September, but we do not expect any major hawkish surprise from the ECB’s framework guidance this time.”
